Time keeps on ticking, doesn’t it? It feels like only yesterday I was exhausted, dehydrated, and mentally comatose after wrapping up the 10th annual Hooptober Horror Movie Marathon, and here we are, just a week away from Year 11. My streak remains unbroken, having participated in all ten previous marathons, and this time is no different, as I once again inundate your inboxes with horror reviews for the fourth straight year here on the site.
How I’ll manage that with both the monthly podcast and our bi-weekly Something Like A Filmography series? Your guess is as good as mine…
You know the drill: September 15th officially kicks the marathon, and it runs until Halloween. As always, you can see my full list on Letterboxd here, and if you’re not a member of the Letterboxd community now is a perfect time to join. At the very least come join our merry dance in the dark. Even better: play along with us and find some new favorites frightful films, or laugh along at some truly disastrous missteps…it’s all in the name of broadening our cinematic palate.
THE RULES:
- 31 films watched and reviewed
- 6 films from different countries
- 8 films from different decades
- ALL of the films from a horror franchise with at least 4 entries (if there is a hard reboot, you can choose whichever has 4+ that you prefer)

***FOR THOSE THAT LIKE TO DO EXTRA WORK: FOR THOSE THAT LIKE TO DO EXTRA WORK: WATCH Cyclone and Crawlspace. Like last year, there is a third film: We Are Zombies***
****Once again Hooptober is partnering with Screambox. Use this link for a complimentary trial, and watch We Are Zombies.***
My starting list (subject to change provided I still adhere to all the rules above), for those more visually inclined:

The carnage begins NOW (well, actually on the 15th). Hope to see you there and here.
