Hail Horror! It Returns for 2023!

I cannot believe a year has passed, and here we are again. It’s the 10th year of the Hooptober Horror Movie Marathon, and for the third time we’ll be covering it over here on Cinema Dual. That means for the next 45 days myself and Mr. Dan Morris will be exploding your eyeballs with copious reviews of horror films throughout time and space. We’ve got films as far back as the 1920s and films made around the world.

But you don’t need me to tell you that. By now you should know the drill: September 15th officially kicks the marathon, and it runs until Halloween. As always, you can see my full list on Letterboxd here, and if you’re not a member of the Letterboxd community now is a perfect time to join. The entire staff has been logging all our watched films and providing mini reviews there often, so why not dance into the dark and join us? Even better: play along with us and find some new favorites frightful films, or laugh along at some truly disastrous missteps…it’s all in the name of broadening our cinematic palate.

2 Peter Cushing films
1 film based on a work of or invoking the name Bram Stoker
1 film based on a Clive Barker story
1 film that was released the year that you turned 10

1 Tobe Hooper film (there must ALWAYS be a Tobe Hooper film)
